Health Care Debate Flips On Itself

According to this source, an anti-health care protester in Thousand Oaks, Calif., was confronted by an angry pro-health care activist as tensions ran high. Opposing protesters were kept apart by responsible public functionaries—paid with public monies—in regular expectation of conflict.

But things got hot, as they are wont to do in the arena of our fundamental freedoms. A protester who supports a humane, societal approach to alleviate human suffering, attacked an opponent who represented the position of personal responsibility for one's own well-being.

Bird thou never wert

The humanitarian determinist bit off a finger from the hand of an individualist advocate of free will.

The elderly victim was rushed in a coneyance that is continually on standby for such human misfortune. He was transported to an institution for the wholesale healing of the population. The victim was treated and released by a practitioner trained to relieve suffering without distraction. The entire medical enterprise was paid for by a publicly funded entity designed to offer health care to citizens regardless of social station.
